Zebranalogic Moving to Sweden & New Monster Gear

The synth makers from Peru are moving to Sweden.

"Zebranalogic is moving to Sweden. By now we are sending boxes and making the papers...but also, we are working in a new monster, a big one...we are thinking in get better control of the sound and extensive use of digital technology...we can't say more by now,we will return at 2008. A reference: the shipping from Peru to USA is US$45, until 6.61 lb (3Kg) adn US$65 until 11.02 lb (5kg). Amazingly, Zebranalogic's blog has two mentions of Singapore's site... One special site to note is Mr MISSE site which has an interview with Zebranalogic in the feature site... "This one of Zebranalogic's first units. This Synthesizer includes 5 modules and consists of a noise white and 4 Vco's configured in various frequencies, which helps to create nuances between the oscillators, when doing the final mix. What's interesting about this module is that the Vco's can module their respective Lfo's and they can also be mixed with all the sounds generated by this synthesizer. This, thanks to a 5-channel mixer which has a monoural output.The Lfo control has been modified for better control and some details on the Vco have been perfected to create more aleatory sounds.The Noise White has been modified with more gain.

Zebranalogic Oscillator IV
"This Synthesizer comes with the same components as the Oscillator III, but with an added Midi (in/thru). The Midi control has been modified to reach greater range of control surfaces and a Midi thru port has been added, the only channel 1 used is to detect the on and off note. This Synthesizer comes with 4 analogue effects, such as Fuzz, Phase, Envelope Filter and Tremolo, which works as a Vca.

The mixer is a 5-channel one. Monoural Output 1/4. This unit comes with a 110ac - 220ac Adaptor.The Lfo control has been modified for better control and some details on the Vco have been perfected to create more aleatory sounds. The Noise White has been modified with more gain.

"This unit is one of the latest rarities of Zebranalogic. It's designed to be played horisontally. It comes with 2 Vco's, in different tones of frequency, low to high. It has 4 Lfo's implemented in different tempo, and a envelope filter which makes it possible to generate exquisite tones. It comes with a five channel mixer, in which two channels are used by the envelope filter and the three others are free for additional mixing.

This unit has a Stereo Output and comes with a 110ac - 220ac Adaptor, 9 V dc. It has 1/8 inputs to be sent through any controller of 0 - 5 V or a Midi Cv. This unit can also be configured as you can see on the video, via patches. You can play it aleatorically or in an ordered form, without risk of it being damaged.

-This unit comes with Midi (in/thru).

-Lfo 4 output through each lfo triangular and square output 1/8.
-Envelope filter inputs for controls 1/8.
- vco output 1/8 square wave shape.
-output 1/8 sawtooth wave shape.

Hints of New Things from Zebranalogic

There are a couple of posts up on the Zebranalogic blog discussing some of what they are working on. First is Digital Audio Techniques. "In our research of audio development, we are working with some digital techniques for digital systems. Like the Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) technique. With this one we can simulate analog waveform with a dsp processor. The result is pretty good and depends of the number of digital samples. The output is ploted in a GLCD (Graphic LCD ). The frequency of the wavform is variable by software with a knob..."

The second post is New MIDI design which mentions, "In order to complete our blocks for a new audio machine we are designing a more complete MIDI circuit. Part of the process is the system simulation. In the picture we can see the capture of the values of Status byte, note, velocity and note off, all are the same in this test because we are entering the values with a PC keyboard ...we are working a lot to design a bigger machine with more details and best options..."
