Casio FZ1 v Korg MS20 (Rev 1)

Published on Sep 4, 2016 punkdiscoUK

"The Casio FZ1 (FZ10M and FZ20M) have a wonderfully dirty analogue filter that sounds very similar to the Korg MS20. Quick demo comparing the two, firstly using one of the FZ preset waves then, sampling the MS20 wave using its Osc1 direct out. The MS20 is a modern MS20M with all the extra patch points hooked up, including the Osc1 direct out."

Oral Hygiene via Punk Disco

via Punk Disco on AH:

"Hey all

http://www.punkdisco.co.uk/Music/oral_hygiene.mp3

We unashamedly sold out with this one. We have decided to abandon our punk ethics (it worked for The Clash) and go for the big corporate sponsorship deal. Within 6 months, this track will be played to you each time you open your toothpaste, via tiny little space age microchip record players. Colgate, Macleans, etc, email oral at punkdisco dot co.uk with your offers.

Most of the annoying mid-frequencies, discounting Leah, are from the HardSID 4U which we have fallen in love with. There is also some MKS80 and SunSyn love action.

PS: I have also just uploaded a slightly tweaked version of our "At the dISCO" track but unless you are an avid punkdISCO fan (hi Mum), you probably will not notice.

I Me You

NSFW! more punkdisco and http://punkdisco.co.uk/ "Jimmy Page/Robert Plant allegedly took 2 days to write the lyrics to Stairway to Heaven; Leah took 15 minutes to write this track. We believe this speaks volumes!" "All the music is from a 303 and 999 recorded and filmed live; even the strings are from the 999. Tiny amount of post EQ/Comp but other than that, it's raw."

Faderfox SC4 Sequencer Demo

Published on Nov 16, 2014 punkdiscoUK

"Deliberately slow & simple demo to show the multi-trigger concepts behind the SC4 which similar to the RYK M185 sequencer.

Single Pattern with just 4 steps playing : A2, A2, A2, G3

From there, messing around with the step Lengths Track and Repeat Track (for gate repeat modes).

Conventional step sequencer stuff not in demo (but the SC4 obviously does them):

- Linking patterns
- external CC playing
- copy / paste features etc
- remote control featues for transpose / direction etc
- forced key scales
- gate lengths
- pattern nudge
- swing options
- playback directions
- memory details"

Korg 800dv MaxiKorg playing I Feel Love (live)

Published on Sep 23, 2012 by punkdiscoUK

"100% live with no overdubs. Demo to show the 800dv being played duophonicly. Video tempo sync'd in Ableton Live so drums can be added. Drums Arturia Spark. The video has been cut up to get rid of the really bad bits.

Very small amount of EQ to seperate the two synth tracks, plus a little reverb on the strings, delay on the bass."
